Are you looking for an experienced and qualified translator for German and English? Preferably someone who is equally experienced and informed about Germany and Australia? Pleased to meet you. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ilke Brueckner-Klein, a German-Australian dual citizen who was born in Germany and has lived in Australia since 1997. After acquiring my Senior Secondary Certificate of Education, I completed my 3-year professional training at the Wuerzburg Translator and Interpreter Training College as an officially recognised translator in Germany in 1986. I worked with the US Armed Forces and then with the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in positions that required bilingual skills in English and German. In 1998, shortly after relocating to Australia, I was awarded official accreditation here as a translator by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (‘NAATI’). Generally speaking, the NAATI credential is required for the translation of material such as immigration documents, personal documents (birth certificates, marriage certificates, driver licences etc.), professional recognitions, notarial matters and other documents required for official purposes. My area of specialisation includes medical and legal documents such as medical reports, divorce documents, and family law matters. Furthermore, I translate handwritten letters of previous family generations, and I am always careful to find and transmit their unique personal tone. Strict confidentiality in dealing with documents, utmost precision, reliability, meeting deadlines without fail, swift processing of the assignment as well as personal interaction with my customers are a matter of course for me. I have been offering my services as an independent translator since 1998, and it is always delightful to hear again from “old” and valued customers in need of another translation.
